Fillings
We continue to use amalgam (silver) fillings in certain cases where they are preferable, however most fillings these days are composite fillings, more commonly known as white or tooth coloured fillings. They provide a more aesthetically pleasing result and can enhance your smile.
Amalgam Fillings (silver fillings) – the traditional filling material which is very durable and reasonably priced.
White Fillings (composite fillings) – white or tooth coloured fillings provide a more natural, mercury-free alternative to traditional silver amalgam fillings. They also allow for a minimally invasive restoration meaning more of your natural tooth can be preserved.
- New white fillings closely match the existing tooth colour, producing a very pleasing result.
- White filling material can also be used to provide build-ups to chipped and damaged teeth.
